Major Ernest Robinson, Headquarters Company commanding officer and Base Operations officer from Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, hands the first piece of birthday cake to the oldest Marine, Arthur Monde, at the tender age of 94, present during the U.S. Marine Corps’ birthday celebration at the Veterans Home of California - Barstow, Calif., Nov. 8. Traditionally the first piece of cake is served to the oldest Marine then the youngest Marine present at the ceremony. Youngest Marine present at the ceremony was 19-year old Lance Cpl. Noah Avila, data systems administrator for MCLB Barstow.
