Marines, base employees and their families on Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Calif., swim in the pool on base to beat the heat of the High Desert, June 1. The pool on base has at least one lifeguard on duty at all times to ensure the rules of the pool are being followed and to ensure the safety of its patrons.
