Who is eligible for services?

What can the New Parent Support Program do for me
This program offers expectant parents and parents of young children the opportunity to learn new skills and to build on and improve old ones. There are often many questions about the needs of infants and young children. The program is a reliable resource for questions either in the classroom or in the privacy of your home.

What if we are not new parents?
New ages and stages in child development bring different challenges. The New Parent Support Program offers you the opportunity to express your concerns and ask questions about babies, young children and family relationships.

Home Visits
Home visits are confidential and can take place in the home, the New Parent Support office, or any other convenient and comfortable location. The evidence-based Parents as Teachers curriculum is utilized during home visits.

Classes and Groups Offered:

Baby Boot Camp
This is a fun and interactive class for expectant active-duty personnel and their partners. Baby Boot Camp covers everything a parent needs to know to take care of their newborn, as well as information on resources for the whole family, including:

the role of a parent
developmental stages of infants
basic infant care
child safety
pre- and post- partum emotions

Classes are offered bi-monthly from 9am-4pm or on an as-requested basis. Please call for more information or to register.

Infant Massage
Touch is the first sense to develop in utero, and it is the last sense to die. Infant massage is a combination of massage strokes created by Vimala McClure. Infant massage strokes were arranged by different massage techniques that include Swedish, Indian, yoga, and reflexology in a manner that would be suitable for babies by Vimala McClure. Infant massage can benefit babies with interaction, stimulation, relief, and relaxation. It is also beneficial for parents, the entire family, and for society. Infant massage is a powerful tool for bonding and attachment between baby, parent, and caregivers.

Play Morning
Play Morning is a play group for parents and children. At Play Morning parents can meet and network with each other while learning about child development, parenting skills and age-appropriate activities for their children to include, free play, crafts and music.
