EFMP
The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory enrollment program (MCO P1754.4B) for all Active Duty personnel. The program is designed to provide assistance to service personnel with a family member(s) who has special medical and/or educational needs before, during and after relocation due to Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders. An exceptional family member is defined as an authorized family member (spouse, child, stepchild, adopted child, foster child, or a dependent parent) residing with the sponsor who may require special medical or educational services based upon a diagnosed physical, intellectual or emotional handicap such as Asthma, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, Dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, Autism, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, or Depression. Disabilities may range from mild to severe.

Sponsors: Check Your EFMP Status

Recently, the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) launched a website to assist sponsors in checking their EFMP status. The Case Management System (CMS) is the database we use to monitor enrollment or additional needs families may have. In order to establish an account, sponsors must have a Manpower & Reserve Affairs (M&RA) Portal account

Sponsors can sign up for M&RA Portal accounts at https://www.manpower.usmc.mil/registration

Active and reserve Marines who request M&RA Portal accounts are automatically approved. Sponsors can then access their information via the CMS located at https://www.manpower.usmc.mil/efmp

If a sponsor attempts to check his/her status without having a M&RA Portal account first, the CMS will give them a message instructing them to sign up for a Portal account and will provide the link. If you have difficulty registering on the Portal, please call the EFMP HQ help desk at 703.784-9030.
