Family Child Care

Family Child Care (FCC) is home-based day care provided aboard MCLB Barstow by a state licensed caregiver. The caregiver is responsible for providing a child's five basic needs: physical comfort-rest, food, water and warmth; safety and security-a dependable routine, protection from anxiety, and a trustworthy caregiver; love-feeling of belonging and being cared about; self-esteem-feeling lovable and capable of self-direction (beginnings of self-discipline); self-actualization-feeling able to learn and develop without comparisons or competition. The FCC provider will check their home on a regularly basis to obtain the standards given by MCLB Barstow and the state of California as a state licensed caregiver.

If you are interested in putting your child in Family Child Care, or if you would like to become a Family Child Care provider, call the FCC coordinator at (760) 577-6049/6287.
