Isaac Padilla, Special Government Employee with the Voluntary Protection Program committee aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Calif., presents a class on how to achieve the VPP Safety Star status to a crowd at the VPP Participants Association Safety Summit, April 17 in Tucson, Arizona. The SGE’s from MCLB Barstow have been extremely active in instructing both federal and private companies in the requirements to get their own Safety Star and is one of the reasons the installation won the Department of Defense VPP Safety Award.

With stringent testing mandated by federal, state, and local regulations, as well internal testing which exceeds those requirements, these employees stand by their product, drinking it to encourage others to understand that the water is safe for consumption.
