After delivering his remarks honoring the Montford Point Marines during the christening ceremony March 2nd at Naval Station San Diego, Gen James F. Amos, Commandant of the Marine Corps, concluded saying: "Thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your fidelity....I am honored to be counted among you and to stand in your midst" at which time he put on the cover of the Montford Point Marine Association as an honorary member and received a rousing applause.

Lance Corporal Luis Castro, an administrative clerk on Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, demonstrates the weight lifting portion of a full body workout he learned from a You Tube video. The workout consists of four sets of seven exercises. There are no rests in-between exercises, but between each set take three minutes to hydrate and recover for the following set.

General James L. Day Conference Center aboard the base. During the class, volunteers were given the chance to drive using the program to simulate the effects of driving under the influence or while being distracted.
