Marine Corps Mounted Color Guard provided them with the history of the MCG, day-to-day routines, and introductions to each of the horses.

MCCS Barstow hosted the 2nd Annual Barstow Open Golf Tournament at the Marine Memorial Golf Course aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow on April 27, 2024. Colonel Gregory Pace, base commanding officer, and Lieutenant Colonel Arturo Manzanedo, base executive officer, expressed their warm welcome and gratitude to the 12 teams, comprising a total of 48 golfers, who took part in the event. The organizers extended their appreciation by presenting awards (1st & 2nd place overall, Honest Team, Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin), a Grand Prize Raffle, and providing food to all the participants as a token of thanks.

Woodworth did a site visit on all bases within MCI-West as the entire region is engaged in Exercise Semper Durus 2024. The exercise is intended test force protection measures for the region.

The event included art contests, gardening tips, interaction with desert tortoises, balloon art, martial arts class demonstrations, rock climbing, a petting zoo, and more.

The Child Development Center and MCCS Barstow celebrated the annual Month of the Military Child event aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow on April 17, 2024. Children, teachers, and parents wore purple shirts in support of military children and their unique needs as a result of their parents' service. Firefighters, Marines, and Marine Corps Mounted Color Guard came out in support of the event by providing games, giveaways, a tour inside the fire engines, and up-close introductions with the horses.

The focus of Earth Day 2024 is Planet vs. Plastics, with the goal of increasing consciousness about the issue of plastic pollution and how future generations can make a difference.
