Corporal Colten Kokes, S-1 Administration clerk, and Lance Cpl. Zachary Gandiongco, Postal clerk, work together to process necessary mail using mandatory Personal Protective Equipment, such as latex gloves, a protective gaitor for the face or a protective mask, aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Calif., April 8. The new orders for Riverside County, San Bernardino County and MCLB Barstow, require the use of such PPE in public when obtaining necessities, and in circumstances when maintaining the safer six feet away for social distancing.

Artisans at Production Plant Barstow, Marine Depot Maintenance Command redesigned and mounted the plaque, signage, chains and posts at Obregon Park on the Yermo Annex aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Calif., Nov. 15. The plaque honors Private First Class Eugene Arnold Obregon for his conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his own life, above and beyond the call of duty, while serving with Company G, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines.

Major Ernest Robinson, Headquarters Company commanding officer and Base Operations officer from Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, hands the first piece of birthday cake to the oldest Marine, Arthur Monde, at the tender age of 94, present during the U.S. Marine Corps’ birthday celebration at the Veterans Home of California - Barstow, Calif., Nov. 8. Traditionally the first piece of cake is served to the oldest Marine then the youngest Marine present at the ceremony. Youngest Marine present at the ceremony was 19-year old Lance Cpl. Noah Avila, data systems administrator for MCLB Barstow.
